R4, I have a couple pair of "boxer briefs" sitting in my drawer. I refuse to wear them because the legs bunch up on my thighs as soon as I put them on. Why not just wear briefs if the legs ride up to your crotch anyway, not to mention that long leg underwear looks like the old Playtex girdles women used to wear back in the 1950's.

R6, I agree in terms of looks, but I find boxers and even boxer briefs so uncomfortable. I swear, I've tried to switch multiple times, but I always come back to my first love. Gimme tighty whities. (R11, I am on the shorter side, for what that's worth.)

Briefs shouldn't be quite so long. That pair looks like boxer briefs. Briefs are supposed to be more revealing, like speedos. That undergarment has too much fabric.

To be honest, I think a lot of guys actually prefer briefs, but end up ditching them because of the cultural perception in the 90s to early 2000s that started to see them as childish or (for straight guys) as too closely associated with gay culture.

I've known a few straight guys who admitted this and wore boxers/boxer-briefs because of peer pressure, but ultimately switched back to plain briefs after a few years because they couldn't stand the feeling of boxers or boxer-briefs riding up their legs.

I think briefs just make the most economical sense in terms of stability and comfort for the male anatomy. I think the younger generation has less hang ups about the cultural perception, which is why more young guys (both gay and straight) are choosing briefs again.
