BTW - I saw a program on PBS recently about Burt Bacharach and they included this performance of Ms. Warwick singing Walk on By. I love it! SO evocative of 60s TV...

I saw her perform live a few years ago. It took a few songs for her voice to warm up, but when it did she sang beautifully. Her grandson was in the band, and she got her granddaughter to sing. She is a beautiful girl, and has a lovely voice. Dionne gave the audience their money’s worth.

while she can sing, she does gets dragged regularly on other sites as they see her as fake grifter, passive aggressive narcissist and desperate to have the respect that Shirley Bassey or Eartha Kitt garners. She's always had the worst traits of a backstage diva but people give her kudos for (once) being able to turn that stage presence on. Then you have those rumours of her having the temperament of Joe Jackson when it came to other 'talented' members of her family and using them to bring the spotlight back to her.
