What a funny name, Imogen Poots

Something wrong with funny names?

Andrew Lloyd Weber's daughter is Imogen.

But she blames it on the dog.

Just saw her in that awful remake of Black Christmas. She's the best part of it and I kept wondering if she signed on after reading a better draft of the script.

When people have a name like that, why don't they change it? In my opinion, it's child abuse to send a kid to school with a name like that, knowing how mercilessly they will be made fun of.

She played the inspiration for Sally Bowles in the BBC Isherwood fim "Christopher & His Kind." She also played Honey in the Imelda "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." I preferred her in the former to the latter.

I saw her in A Long Way Down. Didn't really like her but maybe it was her character.

Imogen is a very popular name in England. Maybe poots doesn't mean fart like it does in America. Imogen in America sounds banjo music honky like Imma Jean.

I mentioned her in the thread about actors that never “took off”. I blamed the name - like Allison Doody - it makes me laugh and that can’t be good for a career.

Laugh at her name all you want, her boyfriend is the lovely James Norton. He sometimes refers to her as The Poots.

Yes, R16, "poot" was considered less vulgar than "fart" when I was growing up.

I think the first thing I saw her in was that Fright Night remake.

Imogen is a very common girls' name in England. I know many an "Immy". As for the Poots, good luck, Toots.
