Why does it always seem to be coming to my city?

by Anonymousreply 45March 3, 2024 6:50 AM

It’s everywhere.

It’s China before communism!

by Anonymousreply 1March 1, 2024 11:19 PM

Because they know you're still hungry two hours after the last act.

by Anonymousreply 2March 1, 2024 11:20 PM

At some point, the Shen Yun mailers will converge with the We're Calling To Ask You About Your Extended Warranty calls, and then we will truly be in the Singularity.

by Anonymousreply 4March 1, 2024 11:21 PM

Isn't it some sort of religious cult?

by Anonymousreply 5March 1, 2024 11:22 PM

For a week after I saw it, my pussy did NOT stink!

by Anonymousreply 7March 1, 2024 11:27 PM

I had a Chinese guy at my job try to politely get me into Falun Gong, but I don't do religions or pseudo-religions. Plus, the Epoch Times connections are gross. I've heard the show is nice, though it gets preachy in parts. I don't care enough to see it.

I succumbed to promotional pressure, but left at intermission. Insufferable. It is 100 times worse than you can imagine.

by Anonymousreply 9March 1, 2024 11:45 PM

It's a far right production by a group that started out innocuously enough. Stay far away-- Falun Gong is also very homophobic.

by Anonymousreply 10March 1, 2024 11:47 PM

The description of Falun Gong sounds like someone's idea of Buddhism's Greatest Hits, with a pinch of Catholicism thrown in, and seasoned with the usual religious BS of "don't think for yourself and give us all your money!"

by Anonymousreply 11March 1, 2024 11:51 PM

Falun Gong signs up to be in every parade in NYC They even march in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in stodgy old Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

They usually stick them in the back.

by Anonymousreply 13March 2, 2024 12:05 AM

The male dancers in Shen Yun look very athletic. Prob in great shape.

by Anonymousreply 14March 2, 2024 12:06 AM

Falun Gong is some ultra-right-wing shit that is banned from China, so of course they're allowed to set up shop in America and peddle their garbage here.

by Anonymousreply 15March 2, 2024 12:13 AM

Is it gorgeous and beautiful and spectacular like all the commercials say?

It seems like it's in San Diego every other month.

by Anonymousreply 16March 2, 2024 2:46 AM

Free lifetime subscription to Epoch Times with every ticket!

by Anonymousreply 17March 2, 2024 2:58 PM

I’m waiting for the movie version.

by Anonymousreply 19March 2, 2024 3:14 PM

I've heard the show is quite boring as they put the more 'exciting' bits in the ads.

by Anonymousreply 20March 2, 2024 3:21 PM

R20, I’m bored by the commercial!

by Anonymousreply 21March 2, 2024 3:27 PM

Their advertising budget must be fucking huge because their annoying ads seem to run every ten minutes.

by Anonymousreply 23March 2, 2024 4:14 PM

I've always wondered if the Epoch Times are agents provocateurs paid for by the Chinese government, designed to stir up shit in the US. All of the anti-Chinese stuff in it doesn't matter, the Chinese themselves can't see it, and it makes a perfect cover.

The ads make it look like a spectacle, but it’s a small cast in front of projected scenery.

by Anonymousreply 27March 2, 2024 7:10 PM

If falun gong is really homophobic, then I no longer feel sorry for them getting used as organ "donors", they prefer FG prisoners for scheduled organ transplants, they harvest them for their organs, sold for a high price. FG practitioners are healthy and don't drink, don't smoke, and stay fit. They can proceed as usual.

All things Chinese should be avoided.

by Anonymousreply 29March 2, 2024 9:43 PM

I liked them better in the 50s when they were called Madame Wang and the Wang Gang

by Anonymousreply 30March 2, 2024 9:51 PM

Because your city is an insatiable bottom.

by Anonymousreply 31March 2, 2024 9:52 PM

I’ve always suspected it was a cover for money laundering.

by Anonymousreply 32March 2, 2024 9:55 PM

I see the commercials all the time. I was curious about the show when it was playing locally, but the cost of tickets was too high, and then I read more about it and realized it was religious propaganda.

by Anonymousreply 33March 2, 2024 10:17 PM

R28, you need a mental health intervention.

by Anonymousreply 34March 2, 2024 10:22 PM

Is it on the combo menu at Panda Express?

by Anonymousreply 37March 3, 2024 2:30 AM

Put lipstick on a Schlappig, and…

by Anonymousreply 38March 3, 2024 3:28 AM

R27 Well that is a spectacle.

by Anonymousreply 40March 3, 2024 3:47 AM

The dancers twirl in front of a screen. It is ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 42March 3, 2024 5:01 AM

Take that shit to Branson.

by Anonymousreply 43March 3, 2024 5:04 AM

[quote]Stay far away-- Falun Gong is also very homophobic.

I've noticed over the years that not many are aware of this, but in addition to being virulently anti-gay, they're also anti-abortion, anti-evolution, anti-atheism, and of course pro-Trump. Any homo who gives them money by attending one of these should be banned from cock for life.

by Anonymousreply 44March 3, 2024 6:46 AM

R43 Given the number of abandoned properties, they could probably buy something and have a residency.
