Renting a Car At LAX

I'm planning a trip to LA in November and am looking at car rental agencies at LAX. I've never heard of some of these companies so am curious if anyone has any experience with any of these:

Turo Car Rental, Black & White Car Rental, Kyte, Fox Car Rental

I know Turo is more of a car sharing thing - ie where private car owners choose to rent them out to strangers via the Turo app.

Obviously that means you can get quite a range of car types, service and prices.

You have to be black or white to rent from Black & White Car Rental. No fats, femmes or Asians!

Fox is a local agency and they have a number of offices around town. They’re legit.

Black and White is more of a “boutique” agency and they specialize in higher-end cars.

Turo is more of a car sharing app as R1 said.

Just don’t rent a Mustang convertible (or any convertible, really) unless you want everyone to know you’re a tourist.

Avoid Fox like the plague. They're generally cheaper but the cars and customer service are both terrible. And their locations are a million miles from the airport (there's a shuttle, but still).

I've had good experiences with Turo even though it's peer-to-peer renting - airbnb for cars. Look for an all-star host. You can find a coupon online for your first rental and there's almost always a discount if you book 7+ days in advance.

Be sure to check to see how many miles are included in your rental per day - mileage adds up fast in LA.

Avoid the ones that have an all-Yugo fleet.

Agree with avoid Fox. Took FOREVER to get to the facility from the airport then a long time once you finally get there. Rerturning was a pain too.

Stay far, far away from Fox.

The lady is not for returning!

I always use enterprise at LAX - the shuttle is quick and the customer service always excellent.

You can often rent an EV super cheap from the Hertz at LAX
