Fannie May Chocolates

I've loved Fannie May chocolate since I was a little child. The company's beginnings go back to 1920 and the first store in Chicago, IL. My mom has requested that I pick up some Mint Meltaways at the Springfield, IL store today.

My Fannie May faves are:

Mint Meltaways

Trinidads

Milk Chocolate Pixies

Milk Chocolate Vanilla Buttercream

I just ate a Trinidadian. He was delicious.

Candy store candy is too expensive. If you want 5 lbs of chocolate, it will cost like $150. Better to go to a grocery or drug store the day after a holiday and grab an armful of discounted sweets.

I wasn’t aware that they diversified from mortgages.

Trinidads, and Pixies are amazing--both milk and dark chocolate. The other delish types are Dark Chocolate Carmarsh--caramel and marshmallow covered in dark chocolate-- and milk chocolate covered toffee. It's the best chocolate, hands down.

I thought they were out of business OP. Most of their shops have closed up. I've had some nice F-M treats, but my favourite is gone. I loved the Maple Nut Eggs.

Their turtles were good as well, I think those were the Pixies? The company must be in trouble financially for them to have shuttered so many shops in Chicago, and the suburbs.

I ordered a box of mint meltaways from Amazon. The box looked all beat up when I got it but the chocolate was still good.

I'm a fat whore from way back and I've never heard of these. Are they as good as Russell Stovers? Now, them some good chocolatta.

Fanny May is much better than Russell Stover. But maybe not quite as good as See’s.

R18 Russell Stover once made a Toffee Bark that was another favourite of mine. Also discontinued. I must enjoy the most unpopular offerings.

If you want to lick a shitbox, get Russell Stovers

Maple creams were my favorites. I also loved their Pixies.

I think they were just as good as Sees, maybe even better.

Russel Stover mint meltaways are delicious! Much cheaper too but sadly impossible to find recently.

I haven’t had Fanny May since I was a kid, but from what I remember, they’re much better than See’s. I don’t see what’s so special about See’s.
